Frequently asked questions

How do I open an Access database without Access?

TelaViewer reads .mdb and .accdb files: tables, relationships, queries rebuilt as SQL, and CSV export of each table.Pro

Can I document a database's structure?

Yes. The “Database structure” page lists the tables, fields, types, indexes, relationships and queries with their SQL; it prints to PDF and exports to Markdown or to an HTML page to open in Word.Pro

Do I need an ODBC driver?

No. TelaViewer uses no ODBC, no driver, no Access engine (Jet / ACE) and no Firebird server: it reads the database file itself. Nothing to install or configure.

What if the database is password-protected?

The password is asked for once, kept in memory until you close the file, and never saved. The database is never modified.
